The sun is finally shining here in the city and it’s days like these that remind us why we love New York City so much. This past week we catered an event that was a tribute to our beloved city via a themed NYC menu. 

On Tuesday, Benchmarc Events partnered with SITE (Society of Incentive Travel Executives) and Thompson Hotels to host a networking event at the penthouse in the Tribeca Smyth Hotel. We created a themed menu to correspond with each of Thompson Hotels’ NYC locations. Check out the menu and pictures below. Now get out there and enjoy our beautiful city!

Blueberry Lemonade

3 oz lemonade

1.5 oz blueberry syrup

1.5 oz vodka

Stir lemonade, blueberry syrup and vodka over ice. Garnish with a few fresh blueberries. Enjoy cold!

Today we are very excited to announce our FIRST EVER Summer Cruise Series with New York Waterway! The events will take place every Tuesday in July from 8 to 10pm, setting sail from World Financial NY Waterway Pier at Battery Park City/Vesey Street. Each cruise has a different theme, from Bastille Day to Swine & Sparkling Wine, and your ticket includes unlimited food and drinks. 

We’re kicking off the Summer Cruise Series with a Red, White & Blue celebration on Tuesday July 3rd, where we’ll be serving up traditional American fare and festive, colorful cocktails! Tickets are already going, so be sure to buy yours soon on our website here!

Time to highlight one of our favorite New York City venues…the Harold Pratt House & Peterson Hall. Set on Manhattan’s Upper East Side at 68th Street and Park Avenue, it is the quintessential New York location. 

The Pratt House was built in 1919 as one of  New York’s Park Avenue Mansions and still maintains that classic elegance today, but with all the amenities to host large scale events.  From the library to the ballroom, the Pratt House has something for every kind of occasion, whether it be a wedding or a corporate event. We can’t wait to cater two weddings at the Pratt House this summer so we can ogle at the beautiful decor and ambiance!

Landmarc Tribeca is near and dear to everyone at Benchmarc Restaurants and Benchmarc Events. As the first restaurant to open within Benchmarc, Landmarc Tribeca truly embodies the welcoming, neighborhood vibe that sets the tone for all of our restaurants and events.

It’s also our preferred location for events like rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, and birthday parties. The intimate nature of the spot gives a wonderful warming and friendly feel to special occasions to be spent with close friends and family. Clients can rent out the entire upstairs floor to ensure that guests will have the whole space to themselves. The decor and lighting upstairs creates a romantic and soothing atmosphere.

On top of the events that we can host, Landmarc Tribeca also offers some great perks for locals and guests. We serve our full menu until 2am in addition to a special late-night menu of small bites. You also can’t miss our Monday Wine + Dine: after 4pm we offer select half and full bottles for $13 and $26, respectively, and a special French classic dish.

After near 80 degree temperatures in New York City last week, we could not be more ready to break out our flip-flops and spend some time out in the sun. While it looks like we’re back to typical March weather now, we can at least look forward to working with the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy.

We’ve catered several large events at the Brooklyn Bridge Park, such as their annual Sunset fundraiser and Halloween party. We’re looking forward to catering this year’s Sunset Bhangra coming up on June 7th. Our signature lobster rolls and seafood items are sure to be a great complement to the sun, water, and warmer weather. The pictures below of last year’s Sunset Soca event will leave you itching for summer!

If you haven’t already been to the Brooklyn Bridge Park, you must plan a trip on the next sunny day. With beautiful views of lower Manhattan and set right next to the river, it’s the perfect place for a picnic or a stroll. Also be sure to visit Ditch Plains Drop In at Pier 1 in the Brooklyn Bridge Park when it opens mid to late April. Ditch Plains Drop In will be open Thursday through Sunday, so you can load up on our signature Ditch Dogs or cool off with a Ditch ‘Wich for your next picnic!

Living in New York City, it can be easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the hottest restaurants, bars, and events. But it’s the hidden gems of this chaotic city that help you slow down and appreciate all the unique people and places that make New York so miraculous. One of our favorite hidden gems at Benchmarc Events is The Green Building - a beautiful venue located in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. 

What used to be a brass foundry, The Green Building has transformed into a balance of rustic elegance with original brick walls, exposed beam ceilings with gorgeous chandeliers, and newly renovated restroom and food-staging facilities. The Green Building is the perfect setting for Benchmarc’s style of cuisine: simple, yet stylish and elevated. 

The Green Building is also versatile. The large, open floor plan allows for all types of events, from weddings and corporate events, to video and photo shoots. We recommended it to our longtime bartender at Landmarc Tribeca, Miles Adgate, for his wedding this coming August, and we’d recommend it again to any of our friends, colleagues, or clients. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, we’re so excited to see Peter Hansen, our Director of Operations, and his wife Kristin on one of our favorite wedding blogs Style Me Pretty. The blog features their beautiful wedding, which was held last April at The Foundry in Long Island City, New York. Benchmarc Events was honored to cater the wedding, and of course, we all had a great time celebrating and dancing together. As much as we love and labor over designing menus and decorations for our events, everyone knows what really makes a party a party is the music! Luckily, we have our good friend and music maven DJ Goodmonson to count on to bring down the house time and time again. Not only does DJ Goodmonson put together all the music for our restaurants - Landmarc and Ditch Plains - but he’s been our veteran bartender at Ditch Plains in the West Village for years. 

Goodmonson has DJ’ed throughout New York City and London since the ’90s at numerous clubs, lounges and iconic venues, such as The Theatre at Madison Square Garden and The Ice Rink at Rockefeller Center. From weddings to corporate events, he’s guaranteed to find the perfect vibe for your event. His style lends towards danceable pop with a twist of alternative; but no matter the playlist, you can be sure that he’ll have everyone up on their feet by the end of the night! Even our Wine & Beverage Director, David Lombardo, couldn’t help but bust a move to DJ Goodmonson’s beats (see below)!
